The pod floats in orbit around an unnamed gas giant’s moon. When hailed, a simple recorded message plays: "Do not attempt contact with the planetary body below. It is a place of extreme peril and despair. This is the final resting place of John Kierney, captain of the Aeolus, who died to warn you of this danger."
